Fried Calamari Rings and Vegetables

Fried squid rings with vegetables, with flavored lime mayonnaise and spiced salt – a simple recipe of a Mediterranean diet. The excellent combination of seafood with breaded vegetables – the vegetables remain crispy, savory spices salt with herbs and lime juice give the squid rings unique taste and aroma.


SQUID RINGS RECIPE

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

  • 500 g of Squids
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Zucchini
  • 4 Green Hot Peppers
  • 200 g of Plain Flour
  • Oil for Frying
  • Small Bunch of Parsley

For mayonnaise

  • 150 g of Mayonnaise
  • 1 Lime
  • 1/4 tsp of Chili Pepper

For salt with spices

  • 1 tsp of Oregano
  • 0.5 tsp of Dried Dill
  • 2 tsp. of Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp of Chili Pepper
  • 5 tbsp. of Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Put the mayonnaise in a bowl, add the lime zest and 1/4 tsp. of ground hot chili pepper, mix.

Put salt in a blender. Add all the spices, grind in a blender.

Cut zucchini in half, then cut it into long slices. Remove the core of bell peppers, cut into sticks. Finely chop the parsley.

Defrost squids in the refrigerator or water. Wash, remove hard cartilage if any. Cut squids into rings about 1.5 cm wide, cut the tentacles.

Put the flour into a large bowl. Roll squid rings and sliced vegetables in flour. Roll in flour green hot peppers.
Shake off the excess of flour. Put vegetables and squid rings in the grid of the fryer in a single layer.

Fry in a large amount of vegetable oil, preheated, in small portions, otherwise, the temperature of the oil will decrease.

Put on a paper towel and immediately sprinkle with spiced salt and parsley. Sprinkle with lemon or lime juice.
