Custard-like milk French pie with peaches and dark chocolate – a low-calorie summer dessert. This simple fruit milk cake can be prepared in just 5 minutes, you can use fresh or canned peaches or apricots. This peach cake – clafoutis gets a very interesting taste due to coarsely chopped dark chocolate – it does not dissolve in the dough and gives to the cold cake a crisp touch. Milk pie like French clafoutis is a special category – it’s delicate custard-like taste is absolutely unforgettable, and a variety of fillings of fruits and berries, fresh or frozen, make this recipe very practical. Usually, the clafoutis cake needs to be cooled completely, or even better, cooled in the refrigerator, but this recipe – clafoutis with peaches and chocolate – you can serve even warm.

Peach Clafoutis with Dark Chocolate

Peach cake ingredients

Ingredients (6-8 servings)

  • 150 ml Milk
  • 70 g Sugar
  • 50 g Plain Flour
  • ~ 400 g Peaches
  • Zest of half a Lemon
  • 70 g Dark Chocolate
  • 2 Eggs

Instructions

Sift flour into a large bowl, grate the zest of half a lemon. Add eggs at room temperature, beat with a mixer. Add sugar, beat until sugar is completely dissolved. Add milk, stir with a whisk.

Coarsely chop the chocolate with a knife*.
*You can experiment with different kinds of chocolate. In this recipe, I used standard black confectionery chocolate 65%.

Grease a detachable form with a diameter of 18 cm with butter, sprinkle with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.

Peel peaches, remove the stone. Cut the peaches into large pieces.* Put the peaches tightly into a mould.
*Cut the peaches into large pieces, otherwise it will float up in the dough, and the cake will not have the correct structure. In this recipe, I have cut peaches into quarters, then each quarter again in half lengthwise, and finally, cut each slice across.

Sprinkle peaches with chopped chocolate.
Gently pour the dough into the mould.

Bake ~ 55 minutes at 165C, check readiness with a toothpick. Remove from oven, let cool slightly and remove the form. Leave to cool completely.
