CABBAGE WITH MUSTARD SAUCE

Ingredients (2-3 servings)

  • 1 kg Cabbage
  • 100 ml Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard with Seeds (optional)
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 Small Onion
  • Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Put mustard and Dijon mustard in olive oil. Add salt (approximately 1/3 teaspoon).

Peel the garlic clove, chop finely.
Peel the onion, cut into very small cubes.

Add garlic and onion to olive oil with mustard, mix well *.
* Due to the different density of ingredients, the sauce will mix poorly and may curl up in clods – this is normal.

Cut cabbage into slices * with a piece of stalk on each. Put sliced of cabbage on a baking sheet at a small distance from each other. Slightly salt the cabbage slices
* From half a cabbage you’ll get 6-8 slices. If you make very thin slices, adjust the baking time.

Grease the cabbage slices with a generous amount of sauce using a brush.

Preheat the oven to 230 C. Bake cabbage for 10-12 minutes *.
* The time is approximate, as the ovens are different. I advise you to check after 8 minutes and decide whether to leave it more or it’s time to turn it over. The edges of the leaves may turn black – this is normal. Focus on the smell – it should be pleasant, there should be no smell of smoke. A smoky smell may appear if you have not sufficiently greased the leaves of cabbage with oil.

Turn the slices over with a spatula, grease with the remaining sauce.

Bake for 6-8 minutes *.
* As in the previous case, set the timer for 6 minutes and then check the readiness.
