Tartar Sauce

The famous Tartar sauce with aromatic herbs and pickles -the perfect sauce for fish, fried potatoes, fish-n-chips, fried pork ribs or even kebab. The Tartar sauce is made on the base of mayonnaise, where you add chopped pickles, onion, capers (optional) and aromatic herbs.


TARTAR SAUCE WITH PICKLES

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1 Yolk
  • 150 ml of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • Salt
  • 3 Pickled Cucumbers
  • 2 Shallots
  • 1-2 Stalks of Green Onion
  • A Mix of Green Herbs (Parsley, sage, tarragon)

INSTRUCTIONS

Finely chop the pickles. Put the pickles in the strainer and leave to drain (required!).

Chop the shallots finely.

Put the mustard and yolk in a glass bowl, add salt and stir well with a whisk. Gradually begin to pour vegetable oil in a thin stream, continuing to whisk. Beat the mayonnaise until fluffy.

Add chopped shallots and pickles to mayonnaise.

Finely chop the green onion, add to mayonnaise.

Finely chop aromatic herbs, add to mayonnaise, stir, and adjust salt. Leave in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
